HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting and performance gigs. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.

Juan Villarreal, shown at right, nabbed a role in the Perfect World Pictures film Día de los muertos (directed by Maricela Reyes) after finding out about the project after receiving an e-mail announcement that HOLA sent to its members and self-submitting.

The Poets Den Theater and Raphael Benavides are presenting a remounting of the solo show Growing Up Gonzales. Written by Félix Rojas (recipient of the 2012 HOLA Award for Excellence in Playwriting), the play is directed by Cándido Tirado and will star Luis Antonio Ramos. The solo show will run in October and November at the Poets Den Theater, located in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood. For more information, click here.

Rodney Roldán, shown at left, booked a role in Michael Mejías' play Ghetto Babylon. The play won the 2012 National Latino Playwriting Award from the Arizona Theatre Company (ATC). As a result, the play will have a reading at the ATC in Tucson, Arizona and will thereafter have a further production sometime in 2013 in New York. Roldán was cast after the casting director saw his headshot on the HOLA online directory of talent and contacted him.

Iván Camilo, Ismael Cruz Córdova, A.B. Lugo and G. Terracino were chosen to be among the 25 Club Leaders of the Future by Latino Leaders magazine. The Latino leaders convened at the world famous 21 Club in Manhattan. For more information, click here.
