HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Soraya Padrao, shown at right, is co-starring in An Invisible Part of the World. Written by Juan Diego Botto and directed by Ignacio García Bustelo, the AENY - Spanish Artists in New York/IATI Theater production will run in April and May at IATI Theater, located in Manhattan's East Village. Mariana Parma is co-starring in
 the pilot "The Last Hand". The pilot, written by Paula Pizzi and Ed Trucco, directed by Trucco and assistant directed by Anthony Ruiz, stars Pizzi, Nelson Landrieu, Carolina Ravassa, Iván Camilo, and John J. Concado.

Judy Torres will be singing her freestyle dance music hits at the Coney Island Freestyle Funhouse event. It will take place on Saturday afternoon, September 3, 2016 at the all new amphitheater at the Coney Island boardwalk in Brooklyn. The end of summer concert will also include performances by TKA, George LaMond, Biz Markie, The Cover Girls, Coro, Sugar Hill Gang, Brenda K. Starr, and Noel, among others. Danny García guest-starred in a season 2 episode of "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" (Netflix).


Edna Lee Figueroa and Edmi de Jesús were interviewed for the cover story of the daily New York newspaper El Correo, where their roles as co-stars, co-directors, and co-producers in the two-hander Santa Bárbara es una femme fatale was highlighted. Written by Mariana Monclova and Camila Monclova, the play is having its NYC premiere in April as part of the first annual Festival de Comedias TEBA, presented by the Teatro Experimental Blue Amigos at the Broadway Blackbox Theater in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood.
