HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Vivienne Jurado, shown at right, guest-starred as a defense attorney in the hit NBC television series "Shades of Blue".

Kathy Tejada and Telba Cavero will be starring in the new production from Teatro Experimental Blue Amigos (TEBA). Two short plays by Pedro R. Monge Rafuls, the plays are called La muerte y otras cositas and Easy Money, and they are being directed by Raúl Rivera for a March premiere at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood.

The Franklin Domínguez play Lisístrata odia la política is being remounted due to popular demand. Based on the Aristophanes comedy, this award-winning play is directed by Héctor Luis Rivera and produced by the Teatro Experimental Blue Amigos (TEBA), where it will be presented as part of the first annual TEBA Festival de Comedias, taking place in April at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. 


Cedric Leiba, Jr., shown at left, is co-starring along Broadway star Tony Chiroldes, recording artist Albita, Eileen Faxas, Luna Manzanares Nardo and Joel Prieto in Carmen La CubanaA newly revised bilingual adaptation of Oscar Hammerstein II and Georges Bizet's Carmen Jones (itself an adaptation of the Prosper Mérimée novella), it was first workshopped in Havana, Cuba, before having a reading done of it in New York. While retaining much of the score, the book has been revised by Norge Espinosa (who also wrote additional lyrics), Stephen Clark and Christopher Renshaw and contains orchestrations from Tony Award winner Alex Lacamoire, and arrangements by Lacamoire and Edgar Vero. Conceived and directed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Renshaw, with musical direction by Manny Schvartzman and choreography by Roclan González Chávez, the production will run in April at the Théâtre du Châtelet, located in the 1er arrondissement of Paris, France. So large companies pay $1,000,000's of dollars each month to the average person. In return, the average person, like myself, participates in surveys and gives them their opinion.
