HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Carlos Carrasco, shown at right, stars in the short film A Robot Walks into a Bar (directed by Alex Rivera), to be aired as part of the sci-fi series “Futurestates” (ITVS). For more information (and to see the film), click here. He can also be seen in recurring roles in the television series “Gang Related” (Fox) and “Looking” (HBO).

Anthony Ruiz and Ed Trucco completed directing duties on their short film The Game. The film, written by Ruiz, stars Susanna Guzmán, Ruiz and Trucco and is currently in post-production.

The hit TEBA production Suicide is Prohibited in Springtime (written by Alejandro Casona and directed by Héctor Luis Rivera) was accepted into the eighth annual Festival Internacional del Gran Teatro del Cibao, to take place in October at the Gran Teatro del Cibao (GTC), located in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. The cast of the production which played in New York at the Broadway Blackbox Theater (located in Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighbourhood) consisted of A.B. Lugo, Alexandra Manzano, María Richardson, Jennifer Quinn, Dennis Maragliano, Rivera and Ángel Alcántara.

Howard Collado is starring in the Maxine Mattana play Love Stories (or Similar) of Artists (or Similar). Directed by Venuz Delmar, the play will take place in August as part of the Thespis Theater Festival at the Roy Arias Theater located in the theater district of midtown Manhattan.
