HOLA Member Bochinche

* Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members who are getting acting gigs.

Emilio Delgado let us know that he will be appearing onstage with the band Pink Martini at New York's world famous Carnegie Hall. He recorded a song with the group on their upcoming album and they asked him to perform with them. He followed this up with a gig on NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" where he played Jimmy Fallon's father in a skit.

Phoenix Ximénez (shown at left in character backstage at a show) is proud to report that she will be leaving at the end of June for a month to work on a musical called Woodstock @ 40 at the Bristol Riverside Theatre, in Bristol, Pennsylvania. This is her third season with the theater and she is glad "to get the chance to be a hippie for the summer!" To see a clip of her in an earlier production by the same theater company, check out this link:

Also she would like to thank fellow HOLA member Jean-Marc Berne for casting her in a voiceover gig recently with North 40 Productions. He saw her in the HOLA directory and called her in for an audition. Says Ximénez, "This is a great example of how the HOLA community can be a great resource and get you an extra gig or two!"

Pietro González and Sonia Portugal appeared in Edgar Chias' play De insomnio y medianoche. Directed by Berioska Ipinza, the play was produced by LaMicro Theater and presented at The Workshop's Jewel Box Theater in the theater district of midtown Manhattan.

Ricardo Hinoa stars in Shafrika, the white girl. A new musical by Anika Larsen (with music by Tim Acito, Joshua Henry and Janice Lowe), the show was co-conceived and directed by April Nickell, the Jaradoa Theater boasts choreography by Luis Salgado. The production takes place at the Vineyard's Dimson Theater in Manhattan's Gramercy neighborhood.

Ángel Luis Rosa appears as a police officer in a speaking part in the final scene of the Tony Scott film The Taking of Pelham 123 (starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta). He received this audition notice through HOLA's e-mail referral system. Quotes Rosa, "Thanks for the support y pa'lante siempre."
