We start off our bochinche on the Pacific Coast. Angelina Llongueras Altimis was selected to participate at this year's San Francisco Theatre Festival that will take place all day long on July 26th, 2009. She will be performing As a Witness Sàskia, a solo show by Rosa Victòria Gras (translated by Llongueras and Jessica Lefkov) and directed by Michael Pulizzano. It will take place at Action Theatre (Metronome, 2nd floor, in front of the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts) in downtown SF.
Teresa Yenque (shown at left) can be seen this season playing Salma Hayek's grandmother in the hit NBC sitcom "30 Rock." Her headshot was spotted by the casting director on the HOLA directory and she was called in to audition.
The Family Theater Company presented four staged readings of plays by Juan Shamsul Alam, Rick Reid and Tee Saralegui. Entitled Short Ice (as was the title of one of the plays), the evening was directed by Alam and Lori Payne, the plays featured Antonio Tomahawk and Tatiana Dellepiane in the cast and took place at Roy Arias Theatre in the theater district of midtown Manhattan.
Moisés Acevedo and Javier Márquez (shown above) booked roles in the José R. Casado film Kingsbridge after producer Ellie Diez spotted them on the HOLA directory. For more information, log on to www.kingsbridgethemovie.com.
Lorraine Rodríguez has been quite busy as of late. After performing a couple of performances as Lady Capulet in the Soñadores Productions presentation of Romeo and Juliet at Teatro LA TEA, she started work on the Nilo Cruz play A Bicycle Country. Directed by Gil Ron, the production also features Francisco Solórzano and Luca Pierucci. Produced by East 3rd Productions, the play is scheduled for a July run at The Lion Theater on Theater Row in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. In addition, a film in which she acted opposite Romeo Suárez, Willets Point, will be screened at the 12th Annual Long Island International Film Festival.
