HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Eduardo Ramos, shown at right, on the left, can be seen in a print ad for Lincoln Black Label automobiles (it can currently be seen in the March 2015 issues of Vanity Fair and Gentleman's Quarterly/GQ magazines).

Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja) will be performing at a Committee to Honor Puerto Rican Women event on Saturday afternoon, March 7, 2015 (International Working Women's Day). Honoring Genoveva Clemente (posthumously), Marina Ortiz, and Gabriela Álvarez with the Adelfa Vera Award, the event will also feature performances by Rafael Landrón and Bomba Yo and take place at the Casabe Senior Houses in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood. Solanyi Rodríguez booked a role in the television series "The Perfect Murder" (Investigation Discovery).

Vladimir Ríos, shown at right, getting into character, was featured in The Newsgayper online publication, where he appears in a photo series by Lester Blum titled The Warrior of Hope. The  series will be presented in July at a gallery show at the Project Space of the Leslie Lohman Museum and Gallery in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood. Group of the Arts (GOTA) is presenting Pablo Cabrera's ¡Por mi madre que es verdad!, which is itself an adaptation of Enrique Buenaventura and Tomás Carrasquilla's A la diestra de Dios Padre and the popular medieval legend of Death and the Blacksmith). Directed by J. Edgar Mozoub, the play features María CottoEnmanuel García Villavicencio, A.B. LugoYvette Quintero (see below)Héctor Luis RiveraRaúl Rivera in the cast. The production will take place in April at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. Yvette Quintero (see above) and Mario Golden will star in El canto de Carlota (Charlotte's Song). Written by Nancy Ferragallo, the dance-theater piece is directed by Andreas Robertz and Golden, choreographed by Ferragallo and Celeste Hastings, the Spanish-language world premiere of this piece is translated by Golden, and will have a one-evening benefit performance for the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA) on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the Flamboyán Theater in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood.
