HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Luis Antonio Ramos, shown at right, was the subject of a profile in Se Fija! online magazine, where he talks about his upcoming projects (the feature film A Miracle in Spanish Harlem and the upcoming Starz television series "Power") and his recent Latin Trendsetter Award from Latin Trends magazine. Victor Cruz can be seen in a recurring role as Flores in "Blue Bloods" (CBS). He also completed work on the film Two-Night Stand (written by Mark Hammer and directed by Max Nichols).

Mario Golden and Czarina Mada Mireles booked roles in the Laurence Cantor play Born Liars. Produced by ItalyTheater and Renzo Arbore, it is directed by Vittorio Capotorto and will play in New York in spring 2014. Golden and Mada Mireles, shown above, from left to right, booked the roles after reading the e-mail casting announcement that HOLA sends to its members and self-submitting.

Juan Carlos Pinedo
nabbed a role in "Olive Kitteridge", an HBO miniseries starring Frances McDormand and Richard Jenkins. He shares a scene with McDormand. The miniseries will premiere in 2014.

Lucio Fernández is quite the polymath/Renaissance man (actor-writer-director-singer-composer-dancer-visual artist). Most recently, his mixed-media art piece using U.S. President Barack H. Obama won first prize at the Hudson Artists of New Jersey 60th Annual Art Exhibition (which took place in November at the Bayonne Library and Cultural Center in Bayonne, New Jersey). He can be seen with his prize-winning art piece in the photo at left.

Jeannie Sol booked a residency at the Bar-Tini Ultra Lounge. She will display her ample vocal stylings on Tuesday nights starting December 10, 2013 at the
Hell's Kitchen/Clinton (Manhattan) boîte. For more information, click here or here.
