HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. José Sánchez, shown at right, will be acting in Jean Anouilh's Antigone. An adaptation of Sophocles' classic drama, this production of the Blackfriars Repertory Theatre and the Storm Theatre will be adapted by Louis Galantière and directed by Peter Dobbins, with Kick Kennedy in the title role. The production will have a run in January and February at The Theatre of the Church of Notre Dame in Morningside Heights/West Harlem area of Manhattan. Rafael Bello, shown at left, received a Special Citation from New York City Council Member Julissa Ferreras for his "exemplary service to [his] community" and his work as a sportscaster and a television host/personality. The citation referred to him as "an outstanding citizen, one who is worthy of the esteem of both community and the great City of New York". He received the citation at the 20th anniversary gala of the Dominico-American Society of Queens, an event he hosted and which took place in December at Russo's on the Bay in the Howard Beach neighborhood of Queens.
2013 HOLA Awards honoree Vanessa Verduga, shown at right, is happy to report that her webseries "Justice Woman" was named among the nominees for the 3rd Annual International Academy of Web TV Awards. (IAWTV Awards). The IAWTV Awards recognize the best in original online programming and honoring the content creators driving today’s rapidly evolving digital entertainment industry. The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2014 at Las Vegas, Nevada and also be streamed online. For more information, click here.

Ayanery Reyes booked a role in the pilot episode of the television series "The Chosen One" (SyFy).


Michael Díaz (also known by his nom de comédie Juan Bago) is teaming up again with his partner in comedy Oscar Martínez (known collectively as "Juan Bago and O") with a new parody video titled "Lotion Girl".
