HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface.

Florencia Lozano, shown at right (also see below), will resume the role of hard-as-nails attorney Tea Delgado in the drama “General Hospital”, which along with “One Life to Live” will be revived on Prospect Park’s The Online Network (they were formerly on ABC). The shows will debut on April 29, 2013 via Hulu and iTunes. For more information, click here.

Luis Antonio Ramos, shown at left, was cast in the ABC pilot “Lucky Seven”. Based on the British series “The Syndicate”, it is produced by Steven Spielberg.

Caicedo Productions and Teatro LATEA are presenting The ONE Festival, a festival of solo shows. Scheduled to take place April 1-14, 2013 at Teatro LATEA, located in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA), the writer/performers include Lisandra Sánchez Rivera-Payán, Nivia Marrero Rolón, Omayra Garriga Casiano, Kilusan Bautista, Griselda Gambaro, Ron Sarcos, A.R. García, Aureo Cardona, Ralina Cardona, Cheryl Francis Harrington, Félix Hiciano and Kamsy Flash Duarte. For more information, click here.


The Union City Museum of Art is presenting Cabaret at the Museum, a new monthly cabaret series to be held at the William V. Musto Cultural Center in Union City, New Jersey. The monthly cabaret/variety show is produced and hosted by Lucio Fernández, and will feature a talented array of performing artists. The opening night concert will take place on Friday, March 15, 2013 and will feature performances by soprano Michele Sexton, tenor John Jay Hebert, and Craig Ketter on piano, with special guest, classical pianist Jahye Kim. Gilbert Cruz
will be acting in a special reading of María Irene Fornes' play Sarita (directed by Florencia Lozano, see above) as part of the NYNY Festival, a special salute by LAByrinth Theater Company for New York City. The presentation will take place in March at the Bank Street Theater in Manhattan's West Village. For more information, click here.
