LaMicro Theater, as part of Summer Session 2018, is preparing for the US premiere of "La Cantante Calva en el McDonald's", by Lluïsa Cunillé.
In it's US premiere, "La Cantante Calva en el McDonald's" tells the story of a pair of secret lovers at a fast food place, trapped between a coffee and a tea. Suddenly, she enters, the bald soprano, who's name they can't remember. While they go around talking about art and alcoholism, they get tangled in a web of heartbreak and confusion.
Directed by Tara Elliot, "La Cantante Calva en el McDonald's" is a contemporary adaptation of the French-Romanian playwright Eugene Ionesco's opera prima, "The Bald Soprano".
