WGA Details Gains After Post-Deadline Accord With AMPTP Averts Strike

A threatened writers strike was averted early this morning when the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and management’s Alliance Of Motion Picture & Television Producers (AMPTP) reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year film and TV contract after the old contract had expired at midnight Pacific Time.

The deal now goes to the WGA West’s board and the WGA East’s council for approval, and then to the guilds’ members for ratification.

To find out what the WGA gained for its members, read David Robb and Dominic Patten's article in Deadline by clicking here.
