HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Elaine Del Valle, shown at right, is the writer, director, star and producer of the webseries "Reasons Y I'm Single", which is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime. In addition, one of the webisodes (titled "The Latina Date") was just selected to be screened as part of the Queens Book Festival kickoff event, Immigrant Series, via New York Women In Film and Television. The event will consist of a panel discussion and is scheduled to take place in May at LIC Landing in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens. For more information, click here or here.

Angie Regina co-stars in the short film Indentured Servant (written, directed and starring Bobby DeJesús). The film will make its world premiere as an official selection of the Dominican Film Festival in New York (DFFNY) scheduled to take place in July in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York. Edna Lee Figueroa, Edmi De Jesús, and Gerardo Gudiño, shown clockwise from above left, were featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (written and edited by Héctor Luis Rivera) as a result of the former two (an all-HOLA member cast) starring in and the last directing the Joselo Arroyo two-hander Máscaras afuera. The play, written by Joselo Arroyo (and adapted for an all-female cast from the original all-male cast by Figueroa) will be presented as part of the FUERZAfest - Latino LGBTQ Fest, taking place in May at the Julia de Burgos Latino Cultural Center in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood. To read the blog, which is in Spanish, click here.

Víctor Cruz will be guest-starring in two episodes of "Colors of Rhina" (MNN), which was created and starring Rhina Valentín, as well as directing a few episodes of the show's first season.
