HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Elaine Del Valle, shown at right, was featured in an article in online industry publication Latin Heat, where her work as a producer on the HBO Latino interstitial series "Gran'pa Knows Best", was highlighted. Created, co-produced, directed, shot and edited by William D. Caballero, its star is Caballero's own grandfather Víctor Muriel (who voices the title character, itself a 3D model of Muriel). Mônica Steuer, shown at leftwas interviewed by Louis Perego Moreno (Tío Louie) in an article in online industry publication Latin Heat, where her critically acclaimed work on the Octavio Solís play Prospect (directed by Elena Araoz and now playing at the 64 East 4th Street Theater in Manhattan's East Village) is highlighted. Fabián Zarta is one of the co-stars and collaborators in the collective theater piece Troy
The piece, created with playwright Andrea Thome, is inspired by Euripides' The Trojan Women. The debut production by Public Works ACTivate Ensemble, and will be produced by and presented in June at The Public Theater (in Manhattan's NoHo neighborhood). For more information, click here.

Marco Antonio Rodríguezshown at rightwas selected by the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute as one of the recipients of the CUNY Dominican Studies Institute Archives and Library Research Award. This grant will allow him to do further research which will assist in the development of his current and future projects as a playwright.

Anthony Ruiz and Manny Alfaro 
acted in the short film iCreep (written and directed by Adrián Martínez).

A.B. Lugo and Eduardo Leáñez are acting in the feature film The Last Scene. Adapted by Félix Hiciano (who also co-stars and is producing) from the Richard Thomas Henle stage play of the same name, the film is directed by Henle and is currently in production in New York City.
