HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip". In this sense, we use it to highlight HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Caridad del Valle, shown at right, was featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (edited by Héctor Luis Rivera, also see below) for her starring in the solo show Yo no soy Lupita. Written by Pablo García Gámez (also see below), directed by Leyma López and produced by Álex Vásquez Escaño for Teátrica, the play will take place in May at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. Susan Rybin, shown at left, wrote and directed the short play El Abuelo. It was presented in May for the Latino Center on Aging at the Silberman School of Social Work in Manhattan's El Barrio neighborhood. The play featured the talents of Nicolás Salgado, Sophia Angelica, Fanny Rybin and Carlos Navedo.






Mônica Steuer, shown at right, was featured in El Blog de Pablo (edited by Pablo García Gámez, also see above) for her starring role in the Boundless Theatre Company production of Prospect. Written by Octavio Solís and directed by Elena Araoz, the play is having its New York premiere and will run in May and June at Teatro Círculo in Manhattan's East Village. Manuel A. Morán, shown at left, is featured in the Héctor Luis Sin Censura blog (edited by Héctor Luis Rivera, also see above) on account of his directing, producing and starring in A 3 Voces. The award-winning musical revue, which highlights the many musical trios of Latin America), features vocal and musical direction by Iván Alexander Bautista and will be produced in May at Teatro SEA, located in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. In addition to Morán and Bautista, the company of singers and musicians will include Ana Campos, Edwin Vázquez, Román Rojas, George Sáenz, Sebastián Cruz, Juan Gerena and Sinuhé Padilla Isunza. To read the blog, which is in Spanish, click here.
