HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

J. Santanashown at right, is co-starring in the upcoming webseries "Cornelia" (created by Rose Gutiérrez), where he plays the title character's best friend. He booked the role after reading a casting notice sent by HOLA to its members and self-submitting.

Lori Felipe-Barkin, Aamira Martínez, Daniel Anthony Hidalgo and Carmen Cabrera performed in The 4th Annual One-Minute Play Festival of Latina/o Voices. Produced by The One-Minute Play Festival (#1MPF) and INTAR, the performances took place at INTAR, located in the Hell's Kitchen/Clinton area of Manhattan.

The feature film Medardo (written by 2015 HOLA Award recipent Julio Ortega, shown at left, and 2015 HOLA Award recipient Nitsy Grau) received two nominations in the 2015 Los Angeles International Film Festival (LAIFFA) Awards– one for Best Foreign Feature Film and one for Best Actor for Ortega. In addition to Ortega, the film stars Edna Lee Figueroa, Edison Carrera, Gloria Ospina, Inma Heredia and 2015 HOLA Awards recipient Juan Villarreal. For more information, click here.

Roberto Sanábria guest-starred as superspy Corey Jackson in a webisode of the campy webseries "What's Going On? With Avery And Joel", which can be seen by clicking on the video below. [Caution: Strong language.]
