The two who most recently passed away were performer-writer-poet Anita Vélez-Mitchell and costume designer Antonio Reyes. The third person mentioned passed away the day after the 2014 HOLA Awards ceremony– Elizabeth PeñaHOLA is presenting an award in her honor, the HOLA Elizabeth Peña Breakthrough Award.

Another new honor is a collaboration between HOLA and R.Evolución Latina. This award will honor someone who is an inspiration to Latinos (especially Latino youth) and one who gives back to the Latino community. It is called the HOLA and R.Evolución Latina Dare To Go Beyond Award.

In addition, HOLA announced the HOLA Performer's Choice Awards, where one can vote for his/her favorite production and solo production. The Performer's Choice awardees would be announced at the 2015 HOLA Awards ceremony.
