HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Andrea Navedo, shown at right, was profiled by Deyanira Martínez in the March 2015 issue of Latin Trends magazine, where she spoke about her career and her role as Xiomara in the critically acclaimed, award winning The CW series "Jane The Virgin". To read the article, click on the image at right.

Monte Bezell stars in and co-directed the feature film El Gallo (written by Joel Luna and co-directed by Ali Abouomar). The film, which stars Chris LaPlanta, José Ramón Rosario and Francesca Van Horne, also stars Manny Alfaro (see below)Denia Brache, A.B. Lugo (see below)Abraham Makany, Paul MaurielloAR García, Lara Goldie, José A. Esquea, and Luna. The film recently wrapped production in New York City.


Esmeralda magazine recently covered the 2014 HOLA Awards in a two-page spread in its December 2014-January 2015 issue. HOLA members Manny Alfaro (see above), Pablo Andrade, Caridad del Valle, Mónica Delgado, Pablo García Gámez, Enmanuel García Villavicencio (see below), A.B. Lugo (see above and below), Manuel A. Group of the Arts (GOTA) is presenting Pablo Cabrera's ¡Por mi madre, que es verdad! An adaptation of Enrique Buenaventura and Tomás Carrasquilla's A la diestra de Dios Padre and the medieval legend of The Blacksmith and the Devil, it is directed by J. Edgar Mozoub and stars Digna Carvajal, Telba CaveroMaría Cotto, Dílcia De Jesús, Altagracia Frías, Agar García, Enmanuel García Villavicencio (see above), Milo Galicia, A.B. Lugo (see above), Amado Marte, Mozoub, Erickson Peralta, Yvette QuinteroHéctor Luis Rivera (see above), Raúl Rivera, Schneider Ureña and Pedro Vargas. Performances will take place in April at the Broadway Blackbox Theater, located in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood. For more information, click here or here.
