HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Paul Mauriello, shown at right, booked a role in the feature film El Gallo (written by Joel Luna and directed by Ali Abouomar) from an HOLA referral. The film, which stars Monte Bezell, Chris LaPlanta and Francesca Van Horne, also stars Manny Alfaro, Denia Brache, AR García and Luna, and is currently shooting in New York City.

José Sepúlveda sang at the Broadway on 22nd Street cabaret event at The Metropolitan Room (located in Manhattan's Flatiron District) on Monday, March 2, 2015 alongside other musical theater performers. For more information, click here.

Christopher Morriss is starring in Gilgamesh: A Musical Epic. Presented by Columbia Stages, it is written by Peter Petkovsek and Ian Wehrle and directed by Petkovsek. The production will run in April at the Connelly Theater in the Loísaida area of Manhattan. For more information, click here.


Sejal Shah acted in the feature film Jack of the Red Hearts (written by Jennifer Deaton and directed by Janet Grillo). The film, which stars AnnaSophia Robb and Famke Janssen, is currently in post-production.


David Zayas, shown at left, was featured in a Yahoo! Movies article, which interviewed Academy Award winner Helen Hunt for her upcoming feature film Ride (which she wrote, directed, co-produced and in which she stars). The film, which hits U.S. movie theaters on Friday, May 1, 2015, also stars Luke Wilson, Leonor Varela, Richard Kind, Mike White, and Brenton Thwaites. To read the article, click here.
