HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to "gossip." In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members who are getting acting and performance gigs. The names of HOLA members are in boldface.

Teatro SEA is producing the new musical DC-7: The Roberto Clemente Story. Written and directed by Luis Caballero, produced by Manuel A. Morán and starring Modesto Lacén in the title role. The show (with choreography by Luis Salgado) will have a November run as part of the Borimix Festival in Teatro SEA's eponymous theater located in the Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center (home to HOLA) in Manhattan's Loísaida neighborhood. The cast also includes Morán, Josean Ortiz, Lorraine Vélez, Anthony Cotto, Xiomara Rodríguez, Fidel Vicioso, Johanna Rodríguez, Shawn Beck-Gifford and María del Mar González.

Alberto Bonilla booked work on the film Sleep Walk With Me. Written and directed by Mike Birbiglia based on his off-Broadway solo show of the same name, the film also stars Lauren Ambrose.

The film Under My Nails, written and starring Kisha Tikina Burgos and directed by Arí Manuel Cruz was written up in the Puerto Rican newspaper Primera Hora by Amary Santiago Torres. The film also stars Iván Camilo, Maité Bonilla and Rosie Berrido. One can read the article here.

Loren Escandón and Jaime Robert Carrillo star in No lo mates (Don't Kill It). The play, written and directed by Marisol Rozo, will be produced by and at IATI Theater, located in Manhattan's East Village for an October and November run. For more information, click here.
